Honkai: Star Rail has finally unveiled one of the game’s most anticipated characters, Fugue, confirmed to debut with the Version 2.7 update as a new incarnation of Tingyun. This popular sci-fi RPG from HoYoverse has consistently introduced a variety of unique characters, many of whom have received alternate playable forms. Players have already seen revamped versions of starter characters, including March 7th’s Hunt variant and the five-star character Dan Heng Imbibitor Lunae. Now, another beloved character is set to make a return in a fresh guise.
Since the launch of Honkai: Star Rail, speculation has surrounded Tingyun, who played a significant role during the initial exploration of Xianzhou Luofu. Acting as a guide, Tingyun was later revealed to be an impostor created by Phantylia. Following her apparent demise, rumors abounded regarding the potential return of the genuine Tingyun. The latest announcement has now confirmed this long-awaited return, introducing Fugue as the authentic form of Tingyun.
In a teaser post highlighting this release, Fugue is described as a “tactful Foxian girl whose name, identity, and appearance were all stolen.” The announcement also reveals Fugue’s Element and Path, confirming her as a Fire Nihility character. Fugue is slated for release with the Version 2.7 update, which is currently rumored to launch on December 3.
Additionally, Honkai: Star Rail fans can look forward to more exciting additions with the upcoming updates. HoYoverse has confirmed another highly-anticipated character, Sunday, will be introduced alongside Fugue in Version 2.7. Speculation about the five-star version of Herta has also been swirling, following recent teasers hinting at her real form.
Before Version 2.7 arrives, players can expect a wealth of content in Version 2.6, including a return to Penacony and the introduction of the five-star Imaginary Erudition character Rappa. The beloved Simulated Universe game mode will receive its latest expansion during this patch, promising significant updates comparable to past events like “Swarm Disaster” and “Gold and Gears.”
